Jeep Compass 2025: A New Era of Quality

After 18 years and over 2.5 million units sold, a new chapter in the history of Jeep Compass begins. This SUV is an entirely different vehicle compared to the edition launched in 2017 and updated four years ago. The Compass is the first car from the brand to use a platform shared with other Stellantis group vehicles: the STLA Medium, which also serves as the base for the Citroën C5 Aircross, Opel Grandland, and Peugeot 3008. The Compass will be produced in various factories, with the first one to begin production in Melfi, in the province of Potenza.

Available for Sale by the End of the Year

The launch of the Jeep Compass will take place in June 2025, and the vehicle will be available in dealerships by the end of the year. It will be offered in a hybrid version (with a 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline engine producing 136 hp and an electric motor producing 29 hp, for a combined power of 145 hp; price: 41,900 EUR) or an electric version with 210 hp and a 74 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 500 km (49,900 EUR). Later on, there will be a 1.6-liter hybrid with 194 hp and two electric versions with 230 and 375 hp and 96 kWh batteries. These models will feature motors for each axle and offer all-wheel drive, while the other versions have front-wheel drive. The official range for the 230 hp version is up to 650 km on a single charge. The standard charger is 11 kW (optional 22 kW), and the battery supports charging up to 160 kW at fast DC chargers (charging time from 20 to 80% is 30 minutes).

Increased Size

The new Jeep Compass is 14 cm longer and 8.5 cm wider. The wheelbase has increased by 5.5 cm compared to the Peugeot 3008. As a result, the interior is very spacious. The boot capacity has also increased, now offering about 550 liters with all five seats in use. The rear seatbacks are split into three parts, allowing for an even greater load capacity.

Muscular Design with Personality

The exterior of the new Jeep Compass impresses with its muscular lines and modern design that reinterprets the brand’s key stylistic elements. The typical seven-slot grille is now closed, and air reaches the radiator (located lower) through movable segments in the bumper. The small horizontal lighting segments and the camera and radar for semi-autonomous driving are standard on all versions. The pronounced wheel arches remind of the Jeep Avenger, while the rear lights in an X shape and the illuminated Jeep badge, which can now be lit in red, give the vehicle a bold and sporty look. Extensive dark plastic protections make the body more aggressive and protect it from potential scratches. Other aerodynamic features contribute to a drag coefficient (Cx) lower than 0.30 – an excellent result for a family SUV.

Not Quite an Off-Roader, But Almost

The Jeep Compass has a ground clearance of 19 cm. Its approach, breakover, and departure angles are 20º, 15º, and 25º, respectively (for the two-motor electric version, these angles are 28º, 16º, and 30º, thanks to smoother bumpers and a 1 cm higher body). According to the manufacturer, the vehicle can cross water obstacles up to 47 cm deep (48 cm for the all-wheel-drive version).

Practical and Well-Made Interior

The interior of the new Jeep Compass is more modern and shows a higher level of craftsmanship compared to the previous model. There are two large displays: a 16-inch screen for the multimedia system and a 10-inch digital dashboard. The latter can display navigation maps and, in higher trims, comes with a head-up display. Between the wide, comfortable front seats is the red rubberized button for the Selec-Terrain system (an electronic system that adapts the car’s response to different road surfaces). The large “pocket” above the glove box, covered in special anti-slip plastic, is just one of many storage compartments in the front of the cabin. There’s plenty of space to store both large and small items. The fabric seat upholstery is particularly durable.

Jeep Compass 2025 Available in Europe in Fall 2025

The new Jeep Compass will be available on the European market in the fall of 2025, marking an important milestone for the brand as it moves toward a zero-emission future.

With its combination of power, luxury, and innovation, the Jeep Compass becomes a major competitor in the luxury electric SUV segment, promising to meet the growing demands of customers who are increasingly focused on performance and environmental efficiency.
